DayzRP founder asking for 50k in donations to bail him out because he hid 70k Euros from the Swedish tax authorities.

I was linked this thread by a friend.

I have admitted that I fucked up in the thread I posted, there is no denying it. I never tried to put the blame on anything else than my stupidity and ignorance. I suck at doing taxes and all the legal stuff. I know that I am at fault for not treating DayZRP like a real business and properly registering it as a company that brings profit and for not paying taxes for the income it generated.

I never asked the community for the estimated 50k to pay back the entire thing. I asked to help to cover initial costs of 10k that together with the already present savings of 10k from donations would give me a chance to take a bank loan and allow me pay the money that I rightfully owe back, without having my property confiscated or running in debt for the next 5 years.

Yes, I used some of the donation money to pay for my rent and living costs for more than a year, until I got a full time job. I should have let the community know that I was doing that and that not all of their money was used or saved to pay for DayZRP expenses. That is on me as well, however I do not think it is right to label me as a scammer who did that on purpose, especially by those who never were members of the community. DayZRP was always a hobby - I either had studies or a job on the side, while working on it in the evenings and days off. I do not think I've ever scammed anyone out of their money - the donations were, except for few occasions optional and the only times we restricted the access to the community to donors only was when we had hundreds of players waiting to get in and the pressure was too much - this happened perhaps 3-4 times in the history of DayZRP and never lasted for more than few days. The people always received the perks or skins they paid for, if they didn't like what they got or if a PayPal dispute was filed and the reason for it was reasonable, I always refunded the donation. Staff members occasionally got Steam games as a thank you for their hard work. I supported a community member who wanted to do a charity for Barncancerfonden, where I created a special icon for people who donated for the cause and all DayZRP proceedings that weekend went towards the charity, we got about 2.5k€ if I remember correctly.

My point being, I am not trying to cover up for the wrongdoings that I've done, but I'm not the bad guy many try hard to make me look like either, just because they were banned from the community. I've cancelled the bailout thing, it wasn't a right thing to do, I see it now. I am in progress of getting professional tax advice, selling any assets that I may currently do without and looking for a cheaper apartment. I want to get things right. Yeah, it sucks that I now have to worry about well being of my family because of an Internet community and it probably will get tough, but I've learned my lesson. I guess that's just how the life goes.
