Is DC's Rebirth detective comic worth picking up right now?

I've read B&R E and I had the same problems tbh. The stories are mostly clichés on top of clichés.

I agree that it's the first arc but if you ask for my opinion I can't start going off on what might happen later on. I have to judge on what has been done.

The problem is not that it's Tim/Kate centric, it's that Steph has no incidence on the main plot. You could take her out and it wouldn't change what happens and 99% of her job has only been to further other characters (Cass' set up for example), she did nothing for her own. She's a main character, just because the arc isn't centered around her doesn't mean she shouldn't be of use to it.

  1. Yeah... in the preboot. Because he was trained by Lady Shiva. When he had to chose the less lethal weapon. All the robins have aa weapon that suit their foghting style. This Tim is closer to Dick's fighting style (gymnast) while his main weapon is his computer. You'd think he'd chose a side weapon that'd protect them instead of pretty much pointing to them.

2.No he wasn't. The Tech guy was Barbara. Tim was good, better than Dick but nowhere near close to Babs who taught him mossy of what he knows. It also wasn't his passion. His passion was playing with cars and bikes and 'puzzles'. He was a mechanic, not an inventor. Now he's pretty much a Tony Stark rip off. Damian and Bart always showed more potential than Tim ever did he was just the one with the most complete education. 3. Preboot Tim was the 'normal'one (and considering the level of abuse he went through even before becoming robin it bothers me to say that). But he abhorred school and only tried to do well to please his parents or Bruce. He dropped out at the first occasion he got when he didn't have to please a parental figure without a second thought. If he could he would most probably go to a gaarage and ask for an apprenticeship (Bartender is the closest thing I've seen in canon to a job he'd actually want to do). Hell the only time college was mentionned as a possibility to him was when Kon visited him when he stopped being Robin and he said 'I want to make my father proud'. That's the only reason.

Reboot Tim isn't normal, he's a tech genius, a gymnastic genius, he's also 16. If he wanted a normal life he might consider a high school but he's still gonna be bored out of his mind and it'll be a source of problems. Maybe but she's only that. She has absolutely nothing to show for herself aside from a funny phrase here and there and setting Cass up in the 2nd issue.
