De Blasio: 'I have spent literally six years undoing what Michael Bloomberg did'

It’s safe and expensive, that’s true, but it’s also ridiculously gross. There’s nothing bougie about literally walking over ppl laid out on the street high on K2 or weeble-wobbling on heroin, while cops are right there on the corner ignoring it all. There’s nothing fancy about navigating around homeless tents brazenly set up on midtown streets, or dealing with the subway which is useless nights and weekends with endless track changes, closures, and packed shuttle buses. Not to mention how foul some of the train cars have become, someone obviously cut funding somewhere - both for transit and mental health - because it is really spectacular how disgusting some of the train cars and stations have become, even the newly opened stations that were closed for months and didn’t even get as much as pressure wash during that time. Not to mention the piles and piles of garbage that line the streets daily because we STILL haven’t figured out a better system for waste management so fuck it, let the rats feast. For a world renowned trillion dollar city we live like animals. The class divide is killing us.
