Dead Mentor

Being an immigrant, I have found Calvins experience to be extremely similar to my own, so have learned very much from him in terms of how to view the chaos of being a refugee from him. In addition, he was ridiculously intelligent and I get so much from reading him. You can’t go wrong with choosing Calvin as a “dead mentor”. However, in addition to some of the caveats already voiced- highly recommend finding some living mentors that you can do ministry with, talk to, and be challenged by. I have found some, and even though I may not agree with them on everything, I have been humbled and have grown a ton just by being around them, seeing how they parent their kids, and see the world.
