DeadLock: Does Dark Souls ACTUALLY SUCK?!? - The Game Theorists

Disclaimer:I Havent played Dark Souls, just responding to points that seem wrong to me.

The game lying - It was a translation error with the life ring, you can't blame the game for that, it's the translation teams fault.

What? They work on the game, therefore you can blame the game and the team that worked on it. Thats like saying since there is a bunch of game breaking glitches in the game you cannot blame the game since it was the developer's fault.

"It's too hard" - That is not a fucking argument that simply means new players have to get good.

Ah... The old "git gud" statement. His argument is that the game is unfair, a game is supposed to be fun, not a chore. When your punishment for failure is going back through a 2 hour gauntlet, there is a problem with your game.

"The ending is unsatifying" - The entire fucking story portrays you as a person who is irrelivant. NPCs laugh at you in the game, people tell you that you are weak and that the world is not meant for you. But you push through and you are given the choice to SPOILERS Sacrifice your life to end the suffering of the curse till it begins anew, or to simply flip the finger to the world and become the dark lord. The ending is supposed to leave you with wonder, not be the finishing chapter of a book.

That doesnt change the complaints about it being unsatisfying. I story normally gives you some satisfying conclusion, or if not a conclusion, its just satisfying. Its not supposed to be this "toodeep4u" experience, you cant say "You just didnt get it" and its alright. Of course this point of his is subjective, but you cant rebutt it by saying "You just didnt get it".
