Dealing with the aftermath of being creative

Yes. Your amygdala is working on so many what ifs right now because you took a break. Give yourself permission for the break, remind yourself that nothing has to be done all at once, and remember that writing is a process, not a chore.

There's no time limit, there is no pressure. You can work on it whenever you want and the only expectations your amygdala is freaking out about are the ones it's decided to do so.

Deep breaths, meditation, allow the amygdala to filter out the worries and then just go back to enjoying yourself. It's okay not to work on it today, just as it's okay to work on it tomorrow. The pressure is something your trauma is creating, and that's okay.

This is your creation and no one else's and you have permission to take as much or as little time as you need to process.

These are all things I remind myself of when getting activated while writing. Hope it helps you in some way.
