You don't understand romance and sex. Sex/romance literally takes control of peoples brains and forces them to act on their interests. If you're around children long enough and have the opportunity, it will happen, given enough time. People tried to explain this concept to you before, when it comes to cheating spouses. Our consciousness in actuality has more limited control than people usually realize. Especially 19 year old males, and especially cops, who tend to be a bit narcissistic and arrogant (no offense), and over-estimate themselves. Almost everyone over-estimates their own abilities. Including self-discipline. And when it comes to sex... It happens all the time.

People never react well when I put things as harshly as this, but maybe this time will be different... The truth is you're deluding yourself. You should not pursue interactions of any sort with children.
