Dear Diary… it’s me, Daya Betty, and what’s it called when people go walking in the woods? It’s like a gay thing | Friday Edition - May 27, 2022

Wrote this in the normie sub and wanna see how bad a take it is in here. Lol…

There’s a qualia and sense of attitude, a timing of the style with current fashion dynamics, and then knowing the audience. Combined they make what objectively seems not good somehow work.

• selling it is easy to forget. Apathetic face or walk kill a good fit. The attitude matching a look makes its impact easy and obvious. Mismatched aesthetic and presentation distracts • if you look at what rich people who fashion body considers to be in style buy, that’s probably what’s gonna sell commercially. The higher up you go to original source, the more meaningful. Think opposite of the cerulean sweater in devil wears Prada. These looks all harken to the mugler body suit aesthetic that has yet to pass. Doja, Miley, rhianna, dua, everyone. Not to say these looks should be easy to sell. Just saying that commercial appeal correlates to how Now or In a look can seem. The bumster (low rise) or the Y2K are back now, but they might not have the same appeal once the resurgence ebbs again. • it’s ru’s show, and it’s his aesthetic preferences that matter (for the show/contestants) for who wins the challenges. Look at 80s90s ru and you’ll see grunge, slut, black, Drag, icon. She’s in her polished era now but ru loves the club kid look. At the end of the day you have to WOW to win with a period bustle gown.

Tldr: it’s subjective AF
