Dear John (Smedley). an open letter.

There you go again, enabling DGC's lackadaisical approach to hacking under the guise of it being "Alpha". Do you even understand what Alpha really is, and how few publishers allow any sort of Alpha access given the typical nature of it being intended for internal testing? Clearly not.

This isn't about testing. Putting it simply, the game has been released as "Early Access" in a vulnerable state that tiptoes the line of carelessness and neglect. Some of the exploits and hacks that have been shown publicly, here on Reddit and the publicly available "hack sites", are ridiculous. It's not as if all of the bright minds of the MMO hacking community have come together to target H1Z1. They're not dealing with Anonymous. It's simply because it was coded in a way that does not prevent them from doing this. Many people, including myself, feel as if this is the biggest threat to H1Z1's health and reputation.

The ratio of games that are released as Early Access and manage a successful launch that anyone gives two shits about, to those that just fail is fairly skewed. I apologize if my investment in this game's future has me concerned that it was wasted based on how mismanaged this hacking bullshit has been. We're still dealing with a company that believes IP and HWID bans are actually viable options despite the ease with which a preteen could Google and learn how to spoof both.

I fully recognize this is Alpha. I just refuse to accept that DGC is this incapable of correcting the issues with hacking that continues at such an alarming rate. Is it really that much to ask that we get to "test" this game and enjoy some of our investment? I think not.

No one held a gun to my head to buy this game, but Smedley and his goons did a fine job of peddling a whole lot of facetious bullshit that suckered many people, including myself, into purchasing a game that they are exhibiting a clear lack of interest in taking seriously beyond glitz, glam, and Twitch streams.
