Dear Lobsters: There Is A Better Way

Yawn.

Jordan Peterson is not a shallow pseudo intellectual con man. Showing the world to be more sophisticated than simple leftist solutions is part of what he does.

Leftist motives can be good, sure. You can want the best for others and be a leftist. But leftist policy can go too far.

The author cites climate change as a problem the right wing either denies, or ignores, and proposes no solutions. The sad part is right now is that the left has no good solution for climate change. Taxing fossil fuels put of existence will have an insane cost on every human life that may in the end be costlier than climate change itself. And for what? To be a degree cooler in 100 years. My point is that the world is more complicated than the left right dichotomy accounts for. The faults the writer lays at the right wing are mostly true. The fact however that the right wants “ex-lobsters” to join the left is ill founded.

I am not a right winger. I hate war, I am against the prohibition of drugs, I am pro immigration, I have spent years of my life in third world countries doing my best to help the people there.

I personally lean towards radical restructuring of social hierarchy, which is quite leftist. I just want to restructure power away from central governments, and put it all back in the hands of individuals who have the divine spark.

Neither today’s left, or today’s right are in favor of that.
