I've banned exactly two people in the #bukkit channel in a year worth of log. One was a troll, another one was Wolvereness after he quit the project.
I cannot remember anyone banning anyone, the only two active people on this were Dinnerbone and I. We were busy requesting GitHub to restore deleted repositories and revoking permissions there.

Please also take note that the ban happened 3 months AFTER the DMCA on the CraftBukkit repo. At this point he clearly was not 'Bukkit Staff' anymore since he abandoned the project months earlier.
If he isnt Bukkit Staff, then none of us are. He hasnt officially left the bukkit project, while you did 3 years ago. Not sure why you think you are helping the team.
As a sidenote, I merely banned him, so he wouldn't come back after he left that time, I didn't remove him from the channel.
Also preventing him from commenting to the channel, and you are again lying as you DID remove him from the channel, proven on the same log, no less.

On the subject of the DMCA, 'who' can counter it depends on who the owners of the repository are. Since an organisation cannot own a repository in GitHub (even in a organisational structure) one or multiple persons end up being able to counter the DMCA.
I refuse to be that person but I am able to grant someone else the ability to be that person. No-one else wanted to step in the fire, which I fully understand.
Lets not forget that Github wasnt the only DMCA'd host. Also, you stepped into the fire when you started banning Bukkit staff from IRC and forums and claim that the DMCA is invalid as if it doesnt actually contain Mojang code.
Besides, Spigot already fixed up the repo to avoid the claims on which the DMCA was based so they could just continue with Bukkit and Spigot close to how did they did before.
Ah, yes, which is why they moved their host to Romania after a DMCA to them due to them using Wolverness's code in their project.
I also find your actions interesting, you screwed up your relations with Bukkit, we stopped cooperating with you, and when you saw your cash cow slipping away (Who wouldnt want a server software developed for them)? You banned bukkit staff, Removed their controls from all Bukkit related sites, Placed Curse to dictate the rules and switched allegiance to Spigot. What will you do when Spigot stops? Denounce them and move to Forge? I can see that happening.
Please get your facts straight before you accuse people of things :)
