Islam is a religion formed through violent conquest (Muhammad, various sections of their book) as well as with a history of violent conquest (Too much to go through here, but I can mention Kashmir as a non-Western example as to not bring up 9/11 or IS again).

Not all muslims are violent, but many violent people are found among muslims. Majority Islam countries also have punishments with whipping/flogging/dismemberment and the famous "throwing homosexuals off of rooftops" which are taken to be the norm - which beggars belief compared to post-Enlightenment western countries.

This whole episode of these last few days is tragic, but I hope something good can come out of it - the newly formed "Nyans" political party as well as imams getting vetted/questioned a lot (bare minimum, imams disavowing the violence/supporting the right to demonstrate, etc) this coming swedish election season...
