The Dearly Departed

It was inevitable, of course, that eventually, the team of two teams, each composed of four students, would finally find themselves onto the tram that Thomas had told them to take. Even more inevitably, that they would find themselves in an air-conditioned tube for the next five to ten minutes before being released back into the wild.

If you could call it the wild even, though. The only thing that to some may even seem the slightest bit of being wild would be the automatic gunfire that, based purely off of the location of the shots that were blurring together due to the rapidity of the shots, were coming from up on the walls that appeared to encapsulate the city.

Like Thomas had forewarned, though, a man did want to speak to them, and as the tram unsealed in the town, the automatic gunfire a noticeable distraction in the background continued to shout loudly. Nevertheless, the man, missing both one leg and, less obviously, one eye, stood tall, waiting for them to leave the tram.

"I take it you're teams Jackal and Comets, correct? I'm Clancy O'Harrison, and welcome to the desert. I'll be in charge for the duration of your stay in this humble village. Now, I'm going to have to ask you to ignore the gunfire for the moment. A small wave of Grimm decided it was the wise time to attack, and we're just mopping up the leftovers now.

"I also imagine you're quite tired, so unless you truly desire to get to work right away, I planned on you guys having the rest of the day off to acclimate to the temperature, and also learn the basics of what I have requested you two teams for. If that sounds good to you, then I can lead you to where you'll be staying now. If not, just ask your questions now."

The man had a speech prepared, and even over the sound of the gunfire around them, his voice still rang true to the eight Beacon students in front of him, and he looked over the small crowd, awaiting any questions.
