Debunking the "But sweatshop workers are better off working for 1 dollar a day than otherwise" argument

Why would Nike leave? Because they put profit way above human lives, and even if they're exploiting people for dirt cheap, they need to find the CHEAPEST place or they're jumping ship. Nike is a super rich corporation and can't afford to pay people decent wages? Bullshit.

Nike is making a $70 profit on each pair of sneakers. https://www.bizjournals.com/portland/blog/threads_and_laces/2014/12/the-cost-breakdown-of-a-100-pair-of-sneakers.html

Wait, but that $70 NEEDS to go to the already extremely rich people who run the company and invest in it, not the people making $1.50 per day working ridiculously long workweeks!

Like even if they paid their workers twice as much, they would still be making a fat profit.

This might be rambly and not well-reasoned but this was all I could come up with for now. But same, I want better rebuttals for this shitty ass argument. My social studies teacher taught a whole class of impressionable 14 year olds this same thing. I think school helps brainwash kids to be on the pro-evil-capitalist side. It's so sad I want to vomit.
