Big part of that problem is, the vast majority of folks in the US don't really know what socialism is. Including many self-avowed socialists. Both sides of that aisle tend to call a lot of shit that ain't socialist, socialism. When I see people like AOC or Bernie Sanders going on tv and basically word vomiting an ever so slightly tweaked and dumbed down Nordic model and calling it SoCiAliSm, I can't help but ask myself "Are these fuckers pissin' down my back and sayin' it's rainin' or are they just really stupid?". The damn rightoids essentially do the same shit just framing it in a negative connotation. Can't help but feel like I'm gettin' played like a bass fiddle man... From all sides.
