I kind of agree with her. Hear me out first.

Ok from my personal expirience i know quite a bit of people who had absolutely no idea what they wanted to do after high school they didnt want to continue with school and didnt want so get a job so they spoke to a recruiter about the military. I was in the same position as i was getting closer to graduate high school. I had no idea what i wanted to do and its almost a sin to the public view if you dont know what you want to pursue when you graduate, so i talked to a recruiter. We had a conversation and told me to go to a recruiting office after school. I went and talked to a recruiter for about 45 min every min i was more and more convinced about joining. He would explain all the physical requirements and i knew i could ace the test like nothing. Towards the end of the interview he asked me if i had any health complications and i replied with just an inhaler. After that the man literally changed his facial expression and told me i couldnt join and i was devestated. It was an inhaler i took only when i would run to stay fit. I told him i was fitter than the average person, i could do a mile in 6 mins, do as many pull ups or push ups he wanted, but he said no. Almost immediately after that, i decided to pursue a career in Corrections or Law Enforcement. I went on a ride along with a local Police officer a month after the interview and i was glad i didnt get picked up for the military. A year after the interview i recieved a call from the recruiter asking me if i had taken care of my inhaler and i said i wasnt interested. My point is that alot of people join the military because they believe that if they havent started a career by the time they graduate that they will automatically fail. Not saying all the people who join are like that because i have some great friends who even decided to go to the military 3 years before graduation and that shows how much dedication and desire they had for being a big part of the country.
