Deepfake Videos Are Getting Real and That’s a Problem

The best part is the anonymous and "scary" deep faker, as if it's some scary underground character who people should fear. The whole narrative of this story is that the technology to do this is more accessible now, why do they have to pretend that it's some underground thing if the message is that it could be anyone? All they are doing really is some advanced video editing.

The real deep fakers are television producers. Their industry is dying, and the scare tactics they use don't work in the modern world like they used to. Featuring this bizarre anonymous villian is ridiculous. Just go and talk to whatever graduate students at some university who are actually doing this and talk to them, no need for the drama.
