Defence Forces deployed to three nursing homes to ease staff pressure

The DF is used all the time for Aide to the Civil Authority duties. When I was in, I fought gorse fires, transported essential workers during storms and flooding, filled sandbags (obviously), cleaned oil after RTCs and one oil spill, searched for missing persons, and ran a lot of car parks.

In the pandemic, DF medics have been non-stop supporting NAS doing swabbing, patient transfers, and building temporary infrastructure for them and the LAs. The Air Corps have been doing patient transfer and swab/test/PPE logistics. The Transport Corps have been doing logistics for just about everyone. The combat corps have been cleaning things. The PAs have been running car parks.

I would be surprised if there's been a single day in the history of the State where there wasn't someone on an ATCA duty.
