Which family members? Do you think the little girls who have had their molestation go public have benefited? Because even if they are 100% behind the quiverfull life, their honor has been destroyed. So, a good match will be hard to find. And if quiverfull isn't their thing, they have been stripped of the necessary life skills to escape. Do you think that they are safe should they be queer, trans or even slightly independent? Because if their father covered up molestation, he's capable of covering up a beating.

Being raised quiverfull is hard. It's oppressive. And I don't think it's fair to say that the entire family is privileged in this case.

White privilege plays a role. It's why we allow these injustices to go on, but to say that the entire family has gained something isn't fair. It's a big family, so ignoring the plights of the numerous children is a big oversight.

You mentioned consent in the case of muslim women. I agree with you that it is complicated in the case of multiple spouses. But it's also complicated here. Whether or not the quiverfull life is fully consensual is tough to determine. You aren't presented with a choice, you are expected to give up yourself from a young age. Raising children from 6 because your mother is pregnant and can't carry the load. It steals from your education time, your free time and your sleeping time. It aims all your being on a single target, and that's crippling.

Please don't assume all the Duggars have a leg up. Remember the 18, 10, 8, 7 and 6-year-old girls in that life. Remember the 6-month-old whose father is a sex offender. The white privilege here belongs to him. Not the whole family. If he were muslim, he'd be in jail. He should already be.
