Delaware school accidentally emails form mocking 'whiners' to parents

When I receive them, I generally respond directly to whoever sent it that they might want to think before they send them and, in my case specifically to remove me as an addressee in the future. As a result, the amount of joke emails that pile up in my inbox remains at close to zero.

Am I aware that people still like to do this sort of thing? Yes. Would I report them to management for continuing to do so? No, because it's easier to just tell them not to include me and I'm not about to play internet and email cop where I work.

It does occur to me that there are a few consequences of exchanging joke emails, only one of them good and the rest bad for senders. On the upside, you blow off a little steam and have a laugh. On the downside, you have no control what a recipient is going to do with your message. He or she might just read it, chuckle and continue on with work. Or, he or she might think it's such a really funny thing that they decide to share it with others and one of the recipients doesn't think it's funny or an appropriate use of the computer or email network and report it to management. Or, they think it's funny and forward it to people they believe might appreciate it and they type a name into the copy to or cc box but they're unaware that the system autocorrects to a name they don't want the email forwarded to. I knew this one guy who received a blonde joke and he forwarded it along. Only the guy he wanted it to go to had the same last name as the Chief of Naval Operations and his civil service career was over less than four years since it began.

I've tried to be consistent in this thread and not be a chide. If you want to send and receive joke emails, leave me out but be aware that not everybody shares your sense of humor or your determination as to what is appropriate use of the computer or email network. I guess a number of people felt strongly about what I said that they believed an appropriate response was to down vote me (despite the fact that reddit clearly indicates that down voting should not be done because you disagree with what the redditor posted). Also, I don't respond well to frat bros who want to enlighten me in an obnoxious manner as to what the vibe is on their campus.
