Deluded and dysfunctional, the Republicans have lost the plot - In fact, they are simply imploding under the weight of their own obstinacy. They’ve run out of people to blame for not compromising with them. So now they’re blaming each other.

I propose there is no war, there is only violent theater. There is, however, massive and devastating culture clash between parts of the world who choose to live in ways that are diametrically opposed and incompatible. The way "civilized" societies have dealt with this historically is to invade and wipe out unincorporated indiginous peoples by indoctrinating them to modernity and wiping out their native identity.

But this Christian Muslim clash is bigger than the world can address that way, even if the west is giving it a try. The world is global now, and the clashing cultures are mixing. That makes the enemy everywhere, in our midst. At what point do you lay down your weapons and admit you dont want to live in a world where neighbor fights neighbor? Because that is the only end down this path we are on. We the people claim to tolerate all religions and yet the web is full of writings that advocate the eradication of an entire culture of millions of people, as if a cancer that must be excised, as if exterminating household vermin were the task of the day.

The hubris with which one must live to suggest it is even possible to engage in diplomatic reform of an entire society and rebuild it in one's own image borders on narcissistic delusion. Unless we are prepared to wipe out every human of the offending culture who is willing to defend it, no war with an opposing culture can possibly be won, and any attempts to do so are mere political theater. Humans are resilient and do not displace their deeply held belief systems merely by being told they are wrong and must change. They tend to fight back when war's crushing oppression rains down. And they are us. They walk among us, they are our neighbors, and we can no longer distinguish who the enemy is by looking at a map.

And make no mistake, Christianity holds as dire a future for the world as Islam if neither are kept in check. No segment of society ought be allowed to dictate to another how to live and think, yet this is the mantra that has spread christianity to the four corners of the world.

The wider the chasms between peoples the greater the impetus to fight over belief systems. Religion itself is the problem, and it is high time "civilized" society wake up to that fact. A world that tolerates global migration cannot survive with warring cultures. Religious intolerance is what got mankind to this day, and is what will end us all if we do not find a way to lessen its radical influence on humanity. No amount of diplomacy can do that.
