Dem senator: ‘Why are people still talking about Hillary vs Bernie?’

I am a Sanders supporter who is still angry with the DNC and am still pretty disgusted that my hand was forced to vote for Clinton.

Here's how I see it: There are two separate parties under the Democratic party umbrella.

However both are doomed to failure if they do not first unite to wipe the GOP out. It is frustrating to say the least, but the GOP is completely out of control and their base is unified by primarily ignorance, secondarily by greed.

The left must take firm control before we hash out are differences and repair the damage done.

Sanders supporters should exhibit patience with the establishment, but only because of the critical situation we are now in.

Establishment supporters need to acknowledge that they will have to compromise and move further left, and that the more progressive side of the party are not just overly idealistic college students. This insulting dismissal is one of the driving forces behind the lack of party unity.

It may have worked in the past, but the dynamic has shifted further left and will continue to do so.

We cannot let stubbornness give the GOP more time in control, or there will be only a shadow of our former nation if and when the two sides of the party can work together in good faith.
