Dem Strategist Claims That Bernie Sanders Supporters Will Vote Trump If Hillary Gets The Nomination

I understood it. Apparently you did not.

Let's switch it to Soda.

10 people want Pepsi (Republicans

11 people want Coke (Democrats)

The Coke people will win if they all decide to vote Coke.

However 5 of those people that want Coke want Cherry Coke (Bernie voters). Whereas 6 of those people that want Coke want Classic regular Coke (Hillary voters).

The 5 people that want Cherry Coke under no circumstances want Classic Coke and they would prefer Pepsi to Classic Coke.

IE: Cherry Coke > Pepsi > Classic Coke

The 6 people that want Coke don't really mind Cherry Coke and they would accept it either way but they absolutely despise Pepsi.

Now the Classic Coke people (Hillary voters) have two options:

  • Headstrong Classic Coke and refuse the 5 Cherry Coke (Bernie voters) their soda and lose 5 votes to the Pepsi (Republicans).

  • Accept Cherry Coke as an Alternative to Classic Coke and be satisfied with their 2nd choice.

Scenario 1: Classic Coke people say fuck off to Cherry Coke people. The votes come in 15 Pepsi to 6 Coke. Classic Coke people are pissed, they had the majority over Cherry Coke people but the alternative to Cherry Coke people (Pepsi) was better, even marginally in their opinion, than Classic Coke.

Scenario 2: Classic Coke people say, you know what, we are cool with Cherry Coke, it's actually pretty good, It's a leaps and bounds better than Pepsi, we would prefer not to risk Pepsi winning so we will pick a derivation of Classic Coke and go with Cherry Coke. Coke wins with a small derivation despite the majority of Coke voters (even if it was a majority by 1 vote) wanting Classic Coke.

This may play out in the coming months between the Dem side. How many voters that vote Bernie are completely turned off from Hillary so much that they would consider the Republican candidate, or not voting at all? We shall see.
