Demanding a Bachelor’s Degree for a Middle-Skill Job Is Just Plain Dumb

It's dumb to demand years of experience for a job that isn't difficult in the first place. Most warehouse jobs in my area need you to have around 4 years of forklift experience to even consider being hired unless you have a friend inside. It doesn't take 4 years to learn how to drive a 10 ton efficiently, it takes one week, to a month at the very most to get it down depending on how many opportunities you get.

I could have 4 years of "experience" doing jack shit on one, but nobody wants to hire the guy who absolutely kills better than the "experienced" guys that still lack the common sense to lower the goddamn fork before getting off. Those years of experience don't mean anything if I'm still as careless and ignorant as day 1. With how much people hype up the amount of experience you need to be hired for the position, it sure is easier than learning how to drive a car.

I'm sure there are many other easy as hell jobs that require "years of experience" to be considered in the hiring process.
