Is demisexuality just having high standards/ going by your own values?

you would be suprised how much of that is social pressure and basic trade.

Not to sound cynical, but from what I've seen from my dad, my sister, my uncles, my friends and other extended family, this is mostly the case.

So many times I have to tell my dad off "I don't care if I'm single" or "I won't try if the effort doesn't feel worth it."

I suppose i have to say this so much because (all I can guess) his physical needs really are like that for him. He and so so many others constantly demonstrate that the validation and pleasure is so great for them that it really is a compulsion... like eating.

Get bored of chicken? Have a burger. Spice it up with some fries on the side and act like you've been on a diet the whole time.

What I find is that demis really are loyal, and are much better at communicating since thats kinda at the core of what thsir sexuality is. While some can be more sexual than others, generally the act of sex or sexual things is better... like night and day better, with someone you trust and love.

I'm sensing a small amount of naivety in your assumptions here. Normal people are NOT like this. Not even a little bit.
