Democracy is nothing to fear, Taiwan tells China on Tiananmen anniversary

I read quite a bit about China, now and in the past. They have nothing to fear from anyone. It isn't even a military thing. Or censorship.

Over 90% of Chinese people identify as Han. They have a bond that "revolutionary" ideas are not going to change. It would be crude to even suggest that the Confucionist Proto-caste way of thinking in China has been or will be eroding over time. Maybe, in thousands of years when the Han people are distributed equally in other countries with families ties back on mainland (China).

China is facing up to their human rights abuses and at least claims they want to change, and the CCP has done a fair bit to crack down on corruption, but they aren't going to just loosen their grip on the nation overnight and install checks and balances in every village. That's just not gonna happen. I know it's wrong, but China is a place that spawns empires. The people, for better or worse, tend to subject themselves to tyranny if it accomplished the end goal of a more prosporous future. They have plenty of chances to revolt, but for the better part of history they have endured for the sake of whatever dynasty/kingdom/empire exists in any particular moment.

They are also allowing renewables research and some of the largest project sites in the world (albeit small proportional to their population and land area). The only thing that puts them - and everyone else - at risk is playing with their numbers. The Shanghai Composite is a joke, the CCP just disappears bankrupt executives/CEOs, and financial espionage is bloating/busting the stability of their currency. America has its fair share of problems, but it doesn't blatantly lie about the debt ceiling, or treasury spending, or market regulations. In this, China has a long way to go.

But point here is democracy doesn't work for everyone and even if it did, a lot of countries would be better off adapting their current formula to modern times rather than go all tabula rasa and adopt whatever system is trending.
