Why do the demons choose evil?

I was thinking about this. It essentially started with the thought: "What if Satan is evil not because he likes doing evil stuff, but because he knows that God gets upset when he does evil stuff?"

Then I thought: "Why would Satan rebel against God when Satan is probably smart enough to know that there is no way he can win (if I know that then he knows that), and 2. the path he's going down is going to cause him to do unspeakable things?

This is all hypothetical of course (NOT doctrine/official teaching), but I thought that it is a possibility that perhaps these two theories might be interesting:

1: Satan believes that humanity deserves to be destroyed. He doesn't approve of God's plans to save humanity and let them into Heaven, and even though he knows God will win in the end, he chose not to serve God's plans. So he rebelled against God and has constantly tried to ruin humanity's image in the face of God since. In other words, the reason Satan chose rebellion is because he hated humanity. Satan is desperate, which explains why he does stupid stuff sometimes, and why he constantly takes out his anger on humanity.

For example, in the book of Job, God is trying to convince Satan that Job is truly loyal: Here

I know that Job isn't probably the best book to use for theology, but still interesting

2: The less heterodox reason -- the reason that Satan rebelled is that he did not approve of God's plan for something. We don't know why. The end.

Either way, it seems like demons are bent on destroying humanity. There has to be some reason for that.
