The "Dems are still in the building" Roundtable

You: No-fly lists are discriminatory. Therefore, we shouldn't prevent anyone on them from owning guns.

Haha what. That is such a blatant mischaracterization of my position! Let me quote from my very first comment on this thread which you replied to (so ostensibly you did read it) -

We could have said "anyone who has a restraining order against them isn't allowed to buy guns" or "anyone with a domestic violence conviction isn't allowed to own a gun"... Because more than 50% of mass shootings are perpetrated against family members and/or intimate partners, and 40% of all mass shooters have domestic violence reports on file. But I guess that would have made too much sense.

Let's act on the Trump in our hearts and target Muslims instead.

And again, from another comment just a few minutes ago:

My solution would be a gun control bill that has nothing at all to do with stopping "terrorists" i.e. scary Muslims from getting guns.

We have evidence that 40% of all mass shooters have domestic violence reports against them on file. We know that over half of all mass shooters target their own family members and intimate partners. A MUCH better solution to mass shootings is to deny guns to everyone who has a restraining order against them, or everyone who has been convicted of domestic violence.

(a) the process by which people have restraining orders put on them is fair, transparent, and follows due process

(b) more importantly, domestic violence is actually correlated very strongly with mass shootings in America, unlike scary-muslim-terrorism. Less than 1% of all mass shooters are Muslim, and even fewer have been found to have ties to terrorist organizations.

On the contrary, it is you who have a black and white view of the issue. You think ANY objection to gun control legislation = "doing nothing".
