Why is the question that you are asking making the assumption that there is a 100% guaranteed chance that someone I care about gets it and dies from it?

Because someone will die guaranteed because of you if you lift restrictions too early. Otherwise it wouldn't be too early. If it was a "maybe" there wouldn't be all the experts telling people how it will lead to more death if they stop restrictions too early. Lifting restrictions too soon will cause deaths that would otherwise be preventable. That is a fact.

And if you are okay with someone dying because of the choice you made, you need to be okay with that someone being anyone, even people you know and care about.
