Depressed people of Reddit, how you overcome from it ?

If you want something you don't have you gotta be willing to do something you don't do.

It's not hard to look up ways to improve your mental health, what's hard is embracing change and unfamiliar things.

The mind is a machine based on habits, repetitions, patterns. It prefers the familiar over the unfamiliar, simply because the familiar is safe.

I know it's not easy to embrace things that are new and unfamiliar, but you've done it many times before, and you can continue to do it again as long as you're willing to embrace something new.

You're a lot stronger than you realize. You're like an immovable object when you don't want to move, but you can also be like an unstoppable force when you really know what you want in life.

If you wanna be happy, you're gonna have to make a plan. List all the things that are threatening your happiness, all the stuff from the future that's coming to get you and all the stuff from the past that you just can't seem to let go of, and one by one, address each issue. As you put in the effort to control the change in your life you'll slowly become worthy of really loving yourself. You can't really lie to yourself and say you have value when you don't do anything to be valuable, you're not an idiot. You really can't cheat yourself.

It'll take some consistency and it'll take some bravery and likely some people to help you stand on your own again, but it's not like you're incapable. Believe in yourself. Believe in your power to control change, to take control of destiny, to shape your own fate. You have the power, all you gotta do is believe you have it and make use of it.
