Depression and Giftedness (this is going to be a little long)

Definitely repetitive but fulfilling tasks help with anxiety. One problem I find myself encountering is that I want to turn easy self-soothing tasks into a challenge, for no good reason. For example if I'm playing a game I start making little "rules" that aren't even in the game just to make things harder and "more fun." But that also makes it more stressful and defeats the purpose. Not everything has to be super fun and engaging.

If you like animals but don't have a lot of time I suggest getting into the fish hobby. There are so many things you can do like researching the compatibility of different fish species, and the plants/decorations that are good for them. You can plant real plants and use real rocks to try to grow you own mini ecosystem or decorate the fish tank artificially and choose your 'aesthetic." And then you get to watch the fish be happy and interact with each other..very fulfilling in my opinion. Lol
