No, a lot of them ARE depressed or have other mental health problems. They just don’t have emotional intelligence, exposure to expert opinion or a sense of perspective, while simultaneously reinforcing each other’s fevered and desperate delusions, so they fixate on penetrative sex as a magical solution to social alienation, self-hatred, anxiety and whatever else ails them.

And the more unhappy they get, the more determined they become that they need to have sex, which causes them to neglect interpersonal relationships and other pursuits and thus makes them even more happy.

They’re just obsessed with a completely incorrect self-diagnosis and treatment plan.
