DeSantis considers Florida lawmaker's proposal to criminalize adults who take children to drag shows

This part is misinformation, because it is nothing but bogus, false talking points:

> Not only that, but studies show most people of color do say they face discrimination and unfair treatment due to race, and have very different perspectives on the role of race in general, and their perspectives cannot be ignored.

I can not ignore them while also recognizing them for what they are. Subjective life experiences. Not objective universal truths.

A black kid living in the deep south, a black doctor living in a white suburb, a black teen in Harlem, and Barack Obama are all going to have wildly different life experiences based on numerous factors; only one of which is race. Even these people's relationship with thier race and the way it has impacted thier life are going to vary wildly from person to person. CRT boils these wildly different lives down to a single factor and uses it as a universal lens to contextualize every single interaction or event that they experience, ignoring all additional context.

And if you want to complain about unfair treatment due to race, maybe we should ditch one of the most prevalent teachings of modern CRT; that racial prejudice requires societal power before it qualifies as racism (conveniently ignoring that black people can indeed have societal power); essentially saying that racism against white people doesn't count.

> Burning crosses and lynching are not the only ways a person can be racist, and the people surveyed would likely be appalled at such actions, but that doesn't change the fact they have biases.

And in practice, eliminating these biases comes down to getting people fired for innocuous actions like the "ok" hand gesture, a slip of the tongue that sounds roughly like a racial slur, or any criticism of the 2020 riots or BLM movement. How is this helping anyone? Seems to just be leading to a bunch of resentful people.

> I have no idea, but I do know it is not relevant to understanding CRT, nor does it change the fact that race and racism plays a huge role in American society.

Its relevant when it is the clearest example of how seminal texts of modern CRT are seemingly immune to criticism, and will receive equal amounts of praise and accolades regardless of the shoddiness of its research.
