Unless she saw her grandma hang herself, she's the literal worst.

As for enabling, idk..I'm not a parent, but I think the instincts to nurture your young are no joke in a lot of parents. You don't want your kid to abandon you either, and someone like that might take shameless routes to keep themselves afloat, rather than do real work. I think many parents would rather enable them than let their kid fall even lower. Personally, I'd drop her off in the woods somewhere, with a GPS tracker shoved in the butt pocket, let loose for a couple hours. Wouldn't be a problem to find her, just follow the smell. Let the reality check clash with the sense for survival.
