I don’t know what to do.

In the order of my preference (but feel free to change it up, not everybody has a stomach to do that)

1) Put it down yourself, like any other animal there is. Cows go to slaughterhouses every day, chicken gets their head chopped off for Sunday dinners, fish get hammer to the head every day. Killing an animal without making it suffer is perfectly fine and it happens all over the world and nobody really bats and eye.

2) Find a vet that don't ask questions, pay up, get it put down.

3) Find a shelter and leave it there if you can't handle death of an animal.

It would definitely help if you get your husband's support, but even if you don't get it - do not bend. Deal with animal problem first, then work on your relationship.
