Despite legalization, people of color still disproportionately targeted for marijuana, new studies say

There's this weird trend I've seen lately on a lot of the cannabis subs where a lot of right wing filks are popping up objecting to the idea that legalization has anything to do with justice reform issues. It's really bizarre and feels almost intentionally revisionary. How could anyone think that cannabis legalization isn't tied to fixing the criminal justice system, the prison industry, the history of drug laws intentionally and directly intended to harm minority communities.

I also think it's somewhat a symptom of how much better things are for a lot of younger people these days, especially if you live in a legal state and/or are white and from well off communities, to be so removed from the realities of prohibition that you simply can;t understand the connection and how prohibition has always harmed people of color especially.
