Destiny 2 - Review Thread [In-Depth Edition]

I'm pretty much in line with Joe's review. We've had the game here for a very long time, even in the alpha to beta transitions. We had sent numerous, and I mean numerous complaints to Activision about the concerns of the AI.

Compare the Kabal to the Sniper Jackals in Halo 2, or the Brutes on Legendary in Halo 3. They all had a progammed AI that responded like an old If sequence table. These Kabal do not. You know what they're programmed to do? Follow a god damn pathing trajectory that draws a fucking line to the player.

And if you are just slightly out of range, they sidestep until the map allows them to "march" to you. It was the biggest fucking "What the fuck is this?" moment during testing. But hey, I am not high enough rank to fucking open my mouth about it. So whatever, email/email/email/email/email.

"It will be fixed!" Lies, lies, lies, lies.

Seeing any score above a 70 makes me think just so low of the people who played the game. It's not a good sequel, it's literally Destiny just without the actual fucking lore, and with "here is something awesome!" and no explanation. As a writer, it pisses me off how they have duped the consumer base twice with this shit. Why are you hiding story from people who care about it? It is so fucking easy to make a datalog, it is so fucking easy to have a brief exposition that explains things the player looks at. What happened to rewarding players for exploration? Fuck the raids, man. Just... fuck them.

Christ... This game pissed me off so much.
