Consider that you could use "ching chong ding dong" or whatever to deeply offend someone and also build a friendship with someone. It's the context that changes everything.
Scenario 1: Going up to a random Chinese person and yelling incoherent "ching chongs" at them until they get so uncomfortable they walk away = bad
Scenario 2: You and your Chinese friend making fun of each other while out drinking and having a laugh = good
Also, comedians/entertainers make fun of racial stereotypes all the time (Bill Burr, for example) without actually being racist. It's a social commentary that seeks to make people laugh, and that's also good.
