I'm torn on this situation. I've been about as vocally opposed to Trump since day 1, as one can be. But, I think people are focusing on the wrong areas.

There are two connections, that I think are being overlooked, by design(leaks control what people look at, and it's been obvious people are leaking Russian Connections, but nothing else).

1.) Israel. One of Trump's first actions was to declare that the USA would accept Jersalem as Israel's capital(which is possibly Israel's #1 foreign policy desire, since its inception). Trump's #1 senior advisor is Jared Kushner, whose father was jailed for shady business practices. The Kushner Charity Supports Israel's Illegal Settlements.

2.) The Bushes/CIA. Trump and the Bushes staged the whole fight between Bush and Trump, fairly obviously. The Bushes and some figures in the CIA have long standing connections to the KGB(and now the FSB). The Fall of the Soviet Union was VERY profitable to both the Bushes, and their counterparts at the KGB, who basically sold/stole the whole empire's assets. Now, the same is being done to America. It's not just the CIA. It's not just the KGB/FSB. It's elements of both, that allied before the end of the cold war, and have been stealing from both empires, and the whole world, ever since.

What we're seeing here is an alliance between factions of the CIA, KGB, Israel, Saudi arabia, and various other intelligence agencies. These people are small in number, but vast in power/influence. They use proxies. They use shell corps. They hire people to do their bidding(like Trump, Manafort, Flynn).

The Russia Connection is real. But that's not surprising. Russia will always try to damage the USA. What is "surprising", and what allowed all of this to transpire, are the people INSIDE of the USA(like the rouge elements of the CIA), and the ALLIES of America(like Israel) that were in a position to make this happen.

Russia was not even close to capable of doing this from the outside. They needed US allies, and nationals in high places to make this happen. So, while Russia should be fully investigated... I don't think that we should be so blinded by the Russia Connection, that we don't look at the other, treasonous connections, that Allowed the Russians to take part in this conspiracy.
