Are there any plans to implement different LOD (Different level of detail)? Even on high-end-PC's the rendering of a ship sometimes takes 1-3 seconds. I would suggest:

LOD-Full: Current model as it is. LOD-Preload: A 2D-3D basic shape of the ship with about ~100 triangles.

So LOD-Preload would always load first, LOD-Full would load afterwards. This would allow you to lock on ships a lot faster, as soon as they get spotted. What are LODS? explained here: https://youtu.be/mIkIMgEVnX0

This is very critical in situations where you are already spotted near an island, you know a destroyer is behind it. When he pushes you he will be able to move 1km closer to you, drop his torpedoes before his model is even loaded...

Overall an invisible ship can shoot 1-2 salvos before his model is even loaded, even on open water, inside spotting range.

I know you game uses a method to hide AA guns and other details on the ship based on distance, but the complexity of the ship model itself is to high in some cases.
