The weak spots on tanks could have saving-throws instead of making them smaller, in combination with penetration protection. It can be like: Driver's hatch: 30% 150mm, 50% 100mm, 20% 10mm for AP.
The weak spots can also have a saving throw and reduction factor for the damage caused. Driver hatch: 30% 0% damage, 60% 50% damage. 10% 100% damage. for AP.

That way the randomness that is not put into the accuracy of guns, but goes to the saving throw. The right projectile might give better damage chance.

I really like the accurate guns. It distinguishes this game from WOT.

The damage could be modified depending on the place and direction and type of the projectile. It is nice to be able to shoot certain components of the tank, and do extra damage in some cases. This system is partially already in place. The components and crew have a saving throw and hitpoints. My idea is that there is an extra saving-throw and penetration test for the extra damage. That is like a critical and gives some extra damage.
Like Driver's hatch: 200mm 50% chance 130% damage. For AP.

It is kind of satisfying when you get critical hits, even when the extra damage is minimal.
