Developing an educational board game to teach chemistry to middle school/high school kids - how complex is too complex?

I should have mentioned that guidelines about how to respond to the trivia + a periodic table for reference were to be included in the instruction manual, but I like your idea of tying trivia into the gameplay. Can you explain a little more about what event cards do? And how this mechanism would work specifically within the framework of the game.

What does 'turning in something uniquely different' mean or look like? And what items might there be to choose from, assuming there are an assortment and only one can be correct?
