I'm really hoping for a deeper DEVKIT or Editor. Overhaul of the weather and sky setting. More weather types like dynamic clouds making some days cloudier than others, fog, thunderstorms, overcast, maybe add a wind feature. Individual color grading. I want to edit the lighting and sky of the rain weather rather than the game smiply muting the colors automatically. Different lighting for different moon phases like full moons drastically increasing visibility. Ambient sounds like trees swaying when there's wind, building's settling. Better more varied effects for water like different types of waters. This could be used by creators to differentiate muddy rivers with freshwater streams and salty beaches, which could even play into survival mechanics like choosing where to collect water and whether it's tainted or potable. These tossing some ideas out there.
