Did anyone buy a new Toyota car this year? Which model and how long was the wait before you could get the car?

Went to Toyota last week to hopefully buy a prado and trade in a old model.

I was told it’s a 6 moth wait on the base models. Basically what I was after would be a custom order in regards to paint, interior and fuel tank size.

Depending on what I wanted he said it could be up to 12 months! He said no contract was need just a $500 deposit that was refundable at any time if we chose not to get the car. He said we could cancel at any date because the line up of people before and after us that want a car it wouldn’t last very long at the dealership.

This effect your trade in price if you wait another year. By the time you get your car 6-12 months the new 2023 models will be out or very close. I know not a lot changes but if there’s upgrade like hybrid that prado is going to in 2023 this changes the market again.

I’m not sure what to do because finding a new-ish Toyota on car sales is almost impossible or the price people are charging isn’t worth it and may as well spend a little extra for a brand new car…. But then you wait 6 months.

It’s all to do with CPU chips. I’m still waiting for my PlayStation too
