Did anyone here register for the actual Cisco Networking Academy Program?

Just started CBT Nuggets videos, and they are certainly EXCELLENT!

For me, I would say the CBT videos are worth EVERY MINUTE I spend watching.

But... nevertheless...

I'm quickly getting the feeling that the CBT Nuggets videos are NOT going to replace self study.

Instead CBT is giving me more of a solid, strong "introduction" and "foundation" to all the topics.

So in short, here is my strategy which seems to be working well for my style of learning:

1) FIRST, I have begun by watching ALL of the CBT Nuggets videos.

2) I also spend about 1 hour per day, reading a few posts on these four subreddits:

/r/networking

/r/homenetworking

/r/ccna

/r/techsupport

I'm learning TONS from these subreddits, about real word problems, and networking, study tips, and a lot of the networking and IT lingo is slowly (very slowly, but steadily) sinking into my brain!

Don't worry if you don't understand all the posts fully at these subreddits... just slowly begin reading a few a day...

3) Once I finish the CBT videos, I am then diving into the Odom and Lamale books, and yes, even the Comptia Network + book at the same time, because why not!

(even though I'm going for CCNA straight, rather than Comptia, I still think the Comptia book is very good/helpful)

4) Fourth, after finishing both the CBT videos, and the books, I will then begin playing around with those network simulators, packet tracers, etc...

5) Review my notes.

6) Take the exam.

7) Cry when I fail the exam (but that's ok, because my first couple of attempts will just be practice attempts!)

8) Re-Review notes... books... ask questions...

9) Retake the exam.

10) Repeat step 9, as much as necessary, or until the day I die.

11) Finally pass exam, celebrate in a serious way!
