Why did Brahma marry his own daughter Saraswati? Isn't this the worst example of an incestuous relation?

Basic cosmology: There is nothing created yet. There is this one guy called the Creator. He knows how to create the world. How? Seeds of memory from the previous kalpa (Hindu time being cyclic). But we refer it to as Vidya, knowledge. For the Creator, knowledge, too, is his own creation, like a daughter. So he creates the whole world using his knowledge and evolution begins...

Many centuries later... The people haven't yet developed a written script. Traditions are taught orally from Guru to disciple. Tough prose.

Some more centuries later.... Enter stories. Mythology. So the Creator and Vidya are given human characteristics and common people can now pass on the higher concepts to the next.

A few ask ask questions and when they get the answers, smile at the ingeniousness of the Rshis. The rest are satisfied with the children fables and will learn the truth ultimately, if not now, in a later life.
