Did you ever shoplift during middle or high school? How old were you, what did you steal, and when did you stop?

I’m embarrassed to say I stole a crap ton of (petty theft) stuff during high school. I was going through some sort of rebellious stage I guess.

It was super random. From like candy at grocery or corner stores. To posters at amusement parks (idk why). To books and magazines at book stores. To bras and clothing at malls. I ended up getting caught at a large department store trying to steal parasuco jeans and a guess tank top. I think I wanted them to go clubbing that night (all ages. Double cringe). Police came hours later and let us go on a warning. So didn’t get arrested. But it scared the beeejesus out of me and I cried my eyes out.

This was when I was 15/16. I was petrified what my dad would say - especially given I’m a straight A honours kid at school lol. My dad didn’t even flip. He just was disappointed. And that made it so. much. worse. He then asked if I wasn’t receiving enough allowance to buy things on my own.

Safe to say the phase wore off soon after.
