Did I get my money's worth? An honest assessment.

I don't know, man. My deluxe edition cost me the same as 3 months of gym, or 6 months of my cellphone plan.

I played a lot yeah, probably almost 3 days. But didn't really feel like I was having fun... Just wanted something to grind for because my life is at a snail pace right now so wanted the quick achievement fix.

But in the end, the grind for Dark Matter (which I started but bailed out), tier rewards, Blackout characters were rendered pointless. One day just logged in and though to myself: why am I even playing this?

Days of declining invitations to parties or bars to keep playing and feeling bad and always more alone on the next day.

Yeah, this is all on me. If you genuinely had fun or just winded down playing the game, that's cool. But from what I have seen over the years, not only with CoD but with all online games, people play these games to satisfy that desire to get something you don't get in real life, be it some recognition, or feeling better than others, or just feeling you worked for something. But it's all digital stuff man. The moment you turn off the game it's all gone. And you look to your life and feel you just wasted countless hours on another virtual time sink, paid for some quick satisfaction with some physical/mental health just because you couldn't ease your boredom with something more productive or meaningful.

Sorry if this seems depressive, but in the end it's not just about the money. It's time. And the clock's ticking, ever so steady.
