That situation sounds similar to mine. We dated for 3 months and the time we spent together was great, but she was a little clingy and I felt smothered. I’m a student and I spend a lot of my time alone studying or otherwise doing something productive. So initially when we had a month break apart it didn’t bother me, I enjoyed having time to myself, but at some point It hit me and I’m thought omg I don’t want to risk loosing her. But at that point she says she’s upset with how I wasn’t prioritizing her and now she doesn’t want to try again.

Our dating styles were just different which is something I feel you can work on if both are willing. Your story is evidence that with a little compromise on both sides it’s possible.
