Did someone say cool packaging?

I'm trying not to insult you. I really am. I could give exactly two fucks about "brand". I didn't start the "Rayban" thread - but I responded honestly. There is no doubt that marketing helps "brands". That isn't even a point in the discussion. I don't think any reasonably intelligent person would make that statement.

Let me zip this one up because it's a waste of time. Whether you like Oakley, Ray-ban, Apple, or Nike - very likely there is a tangible reason you prefer them. Part of it may be brand appeal - no doubt. But, each of these brands offer a differentiator. I'm not a brand person. So, if you ask my why I wear Oakleys, it's not to be cool - I wear them because 1. the shape of my head is more amenable to a few specific Oakley frames than anything else I've found. 2. Quality - Oakley optics (Despite what you may believe) are very, very good at price point. They're literally the only prescription sunglasses that have ever been worth a shit that I've tried. Would I personally wear another breand? Oh yea, sure. I pay a premium price for Oakleys because they've proven to be both quality and durable. They aren't (for instance) like Monster Cables - which are a fucking joke. You and I both wear Oakley prescription glasses - and those glasses aren't even manufactured by Oakley.... (Lenscrafters, right?) I'm not wearing them for brand - I'm wearing them because I meticulously whittled down what I thought looked good until my wife had to decide for me because I couldn't.

Those Juice brands you mention - what are their differentiators? The bottle. That's it. If you can't accept that, then you don't understand how eJuice is made. Until you do understand that, I'm not sure there's any sense in going back and forth about it. I think you believe it's like making a complex brew or something - NO... these places all get their flavor, base, and nic from the same manufacturers (possibly different distributors - but that's irrelevant) they take four of these bottles and dump them into one... voila - ejuice. The ONLY differentiator these BRANDS have is their BRAND. Thus, the entire premise of my argument: PREMIUM EJUICE DOES NOT EXIST.

Also, Although not important - you should read about Ray-Ban's history. You're just wrong (and fuck, I don't even wear fucking Ray Ban's - I didn't bring them up) They have a rich history as a quality brand that goes back to the 1950's. Their success pre-dated Tom Cruise by 30 years. And yes, they abso-fucking lutely do have design patents. You can google for them faster than you can make up fantasy non-facts.

Brand recognition and protecting a brand are hugely important. As is building a brand - none of that is relevant to the fact that there is no such thing as premium juice. If you check this sub for the ECF rebuttle by Halo yesterday, you'll see how I totally sided with Halo - even though I hate them. They were the OG of bullshit premium 'brands' and they need to protect their investment. That's some of the worst shit I've ever tasted - but I'm all about them suing everyone - because they should.

P.S. It's not really fair that I engage with you about Ray-Ban. I ran a business unit at Bausch & Lomb in the late nineties. I know more about Ray-Ban than I should.
